What is an auth code?
The auth code (also called EPP code or authorization code) is a kind of password for your domain. Only someone who knows it can move the domain to another registrar.
- You get it from your current registrar, usually in their client area under Domains.
- It is often 8 to 16 characters long and case-sensitive.
- Your website and email keep running during the move if the DNS records are copied over first. We help with that.
You need it for .com and most other extensions. For .co.za domains the transfer is started with the registrant's approval instead.
