Transfer your domain to DomainsOnline

Keep your domain name and move its management to us: one account for your domains, hosting and invoices.

Your website and e-mail keep running during the transfer, because the nameservers stay the same until you change them.

Start a transfer

Also called the auth code or transfer key.

How a transfer works

Three steps. The only difference between .co.za and the international extensions is how you approve the move.

  1. Step 1

    Get the domain ready

Check that the registrant e-mail address is current. For .com and other international domains, unlock the domain and ask your registrar for the EPP code.

  2. Step 2

    Order the transfer

Enter the domain above, add the EPP code if it has one and pay the transfer fee with PayFast. We then send the request to the registry.

  3. Step 3

    Approve the move

For .co.za, the registrant approves the request by e-mail. For international domains the EPP code is the approval. You get an e-mail when the transfer is done.

What you need

.co.za, .org.za and other .za domains

  • Access to the registrant's e-mail address: the registrant has to approve the transfer.
  • No EPP code. Leave that field empty.

.com, .net, .org and other gTLDs

  • The EPP code from your current registrar.
  • The domain unlocked at your current registrar.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find my EPP code?

Your current registrar gives it to you, usually in its control panel or on request by e-mail. .co.za and other .za domains do not need one.

Will my website and e-mail stop working?

No. The nameservers stay the same during the transfer, so your website and e-mail keep running. Once the domain is with us, you can move them to our nameservers when you are ready.

How long does a transfer take?

Can I transfer many domains at once?

Yes. Use the bulk transfer for up to 20 domains in one go.

Moving your website too?

Order a hosting plan and open a ticket. Our team moves your website and e-mail from your old host.
