Use a domain you have with another provider

Your domain doesn't have to be registered with us to use it with your DomainsOnline hosting. You can leave it where it is and point it to us, or move it to us completely.

Your two options

  • Point the domain to us: the domain stays with your current provider and you keep paying them for it. You only change its nameservers there. This is described below.
  • Transfer the domain to us: after that, you renew and manage the domain in our client area, together with your hosting. See Transfer a domain to DomainsOnline.

Point the domain to your hosting

  1. Make sure the domain is on your hosting account with us: either as the main domain of the hosting, or added in cPanel as an extra domain – see Add another domain or a subdomain.

  2. Sign in at the provider where the domain is registered and open the nameserver settings of the domain. Providers call this Nameservers, DNS servers or similar – ask them if you can't find it.

  3. Replace the nameservers there with our four nameservers and save:

    • ns1.supercp.com
    • ns2.supercp.com
    • ns3.supercp.com
    • ns4.supercp.com
  4. Wait until the change has reached every network – see Why isn't my domain working yet? (DNS propagation). From then on, you edit the domain's DNS records in cPanel – see Edit DNS records (A, CNAME, MX, TXT).

E-mail elsewhere? With our nameservers, e-mail for the domain is delivered to our server as well. If your mailboxes stay with another provider, add that provider's MX records in the cPanel Zone Editor before you change the nameservers.

Keep the nameservers at the other provider

If you want to keep the DNS records at your current provider, point only the website to us: change the domain's A record there to the IP address of your hosting. You find it in cPanel on the right under General Information as Shared IP Address. Your e-mail settings at the other provider stay as they are.
